Privacy Policy
Check Please lets you order at your table by tapping the card on it. This policy explains what we collect, why, and who it goes to. It is short because the product collects very little.
The short version
We ask for your first name so your table knows who ordered what. We keep a record of what was ordered so the restaurant can serve and bill you. We do not process your payment, we do not run ads, we do not track you across other apps or websites, and there is no advertising identifier anywhere in our software.
What we collect
Your first name.Typed when you join a table. It appears on the kitchen ticket and on your table's order list so plates reach the right person. You can type anything you like — we do not verify it.
What you order. The items, quantities, options and prices for your table, and which guest each item is attributed to.
Requests you raise. Asking for water, a server, the check, or flagging an allergy concern.
One note after your visit. If the restaurant has turned this on and you allow notifications from Check Please (in the App Clip, the notifications switch on the App Clip card; in the app, the usual iOS prompt), you get one notification about an hour after your table is closed, inviting you to tell the restaurant how it went or to review them on Google. You can turn it off at any time in iOS Settings, or by switching notifications off on the App Clip card. To send it, we keep the notification address Apple gives your device, linked to your table, until that note is sent or skipped, then delete it, keeping only a one-way fingerprint of it so the same restaurant doesn't ask you again for at least 30 days. Anything you write on that page goes to that restaurant only, along with a way to reach you if you choose to give one. Nothing is offered in exchange for a review. Once your table is settled, the app may also show a small card with the same two choices; if you tap one, we note that you were asked (against a random id the app keeps on your phone, not your name) so the same restaurant doesn't ask again for at least 30 days.
Loyalty card details, only if you add one.If you choose to add a restaurant's card to Apple Wallet, we store your name, a card serial number, your visit count and tier for that restaurant, and the device identifier Apple gives us so the card can update itself. Adding a card is entirely optional and the ordering flow works without it.
We do not ask for your email address, phone number, date of birth, or payment details. We do not collect your location. We do not access your contacts, photos, or microphone.
Camera
If you tap “Preview on your table”, the app uses your camera to show a 3D model of the dish in augmented reality. That view is rendered on your device in the moment. No image or video from your camera is recorded, stored, or transmitted anywhere. The feature is optional and declining the permission does not affect ordering.
Who your information goes to
The restaurant you are sitting in. Your name, your order and your requests appear on their staff's screens — the floor view and the kitchen pass — so the people serving you can see what you asked for and when. Your check is then rung up by the restaurant in whatever till or point-of-sale system they already use. That is the point of the product.
Our service providers. Supabase hosts our database and files; Vercel hosts our website. Apple delivers Wallet card updates and staff notifications. These providers process data on our instructions in order to run the service.
We do not sell your information, share it for advertising, or give it to data brokers.
Payments
Check Please does not take your money. There is no card entry, no payment sheet, and no in-app purchase. You settle with your server exactly as you always have, and your payment details never touch our systems. We bill the restaurant a percentage of sales placed through the app; that arrangement is between us and them and involves no information about you.
How long we keep it
Table sessions close when your meal ends, and sessions left open are automatically marked abandoned. Order records are retained for the restaurant's own accounting. If you added a loyalty card, its visit record persists until you remove the card or ask us to delete it.
The App Clip — the version that opens from the table card without installing anything — is removed by iOS on its own after a period of disuse, and everything it stored on your device goes with it.
Your choices
You can delete a loyalty card from Apple Wallet at any time, which stops all further updates to it. To ask what we hold about you, or to have it deleted, email vyoutech@gmail.com and tell us the restaurant and roughly when you visited. Depending on where you live you may have additional rights over your data; we will honour those requests regardless of where you live.
Children
Check Please is intended for use by adults in restaurants and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes
If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and the date at the top. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
